How far along? 27 weeks (only one week away from the 3rd trimester.... yikes! About 90 days until the due date... which is three months, which is not too far from now, da nah...)
Total weight gain: We'll see later this week, I have to go to the doctors for my glucose test. Still trying to figure out if I need to fast for the test or not. I don't think that I do... who would ask a pregnant lady not to eat?
Maternity clothes: The jeans in the photo are full panel (yet they still fall down, waiting for my hips to catch up to my uterus). I have a hankering to sew up a maternity shirt/dress, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Stretch marks: Last night Jeff thought he found some, but it turns out that they were marks from the couch.
Sleep: Much better this week, although I am tossing and turning all night, I still manage to sleep ok. My hips have been hurting at night, so I make sure I start on my left side, move to my right side, and then in the morning, once I am awake, I lay in bed on my back and watch the baby move about.
Best moment of the week? I made ice cream and served it with chocolate lava cake. mmmm!
And I finally figured out the Rocket Bottom diaper pattern. I will still need to tinker with the pattern some..., I really don't think that directions for a baby diaper (something that carries human waste) should be that confusing, so I am hoping to simplify the directions so that I can bust these diapers out. I need to make 24 diapers of each size (3 sizes)..., the one below took me about 2 hours to complete (and that's after I started one; royally messed it up and had to chuck it across the room). So at this rate, the kiddo will have enough diapers when they enter into high school. I also just ordered PUL fabric (which is a water proof fabric) online along with some non-pilling fleece to complete the rest of the them.
Miss anything? Running (although it is pretty cold out right now, I keep thinking about my first run back after I give birth... it's gonna hurt, but feel so good! Very excited to get back into shape and run the Bay of Fundy 10k on June 23. Oh, and my friend Isaac talked me into running the Maine Marathon in September, so I have a lot of work ahead of me.)
Movement: Yes, lots! She reacts when I have a cat laying on my belly, purring, and when I am at my sewing machine hammering away. So she must hear sounds and feel vibrations in there, which is really cool. She should be about 2lbs and 14/15 inches this week, so she like to throw her weight around in there.
Food cravings: Nothing new. I tried making miso soup last night and it just wasn't what it tastes like at the restaurants. Oh well, it's still really healthy, so I guess I will eat mediocre miso soup for the next couple of days.
Gender? A girl! Still... I hope!
Anything make you queasy or sick? When my stomach is empty, I feel a little queasy.
Symptoms: Felt my first Braxton Hicks this week. Jeff and I were in the car and my stomach started to feel weird and when I felt it, one side was really hard and misshapen and the other side was squishy. Jeff felt it too; thought it was weird. The sensation went away after 20 seconds or so. Then last night I felt the practice contractions twice while we were sitting on the couch...., I don't think I drank enough water yesterday, and dehydration tends to cause them, so I will be drinking tons of water today. They are weird because they don't hurt and although people say they feel like menstrual cramps, I think they feel higher in my uterus than those cramps. Anywho, I am just happy that my body is starting to practice for labor.
Exercise: I did some yoga this week, but that's about it. I started work again and don't have much time to exercise. I will try to get on the treadmill for a mile or two walk today.
Mood: Earlier on in the week I was in a horrible mood, but it has since gotten better, phew!
Looking forward to? Receiving the fabric for the cloth diapers and finally starting on the baby's room. Oh, and I ordered a Thirsties cloth diaper online and I can't wait to get that in the mail...., I want to see what their design looks like. And I guess I am looking forward to the glucose test; I mostly want to get it over with... but I also want to see if I am going to have a 12 pound baby.
happy sunday!

Great update, Shelby! Thirsties covers are THE best covers around (plus they are made in the USA!). I've never tried their all-in-ones, but I love their fitteds and covers as they are a very reliable system.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole! I am so excited to get my thirsties in the mail... i even added a bunch of the to the baby registry at target (believe it or not, they sell the at target online..., just not in the store). I really hope that the diapers I make work..., we'll see!
