How far along? 31 weeks. On our baby registry at Target, the weeks/months are broken into days: 63 days. Wowie. In the grand scheme of things, though, there are a lot of great things happening in the 9 weeks before the baby is born. Springtime is the first thing that comes to mind...
Total weight gain? same ol', same ol'.
Maternity clothes: I haven't purchased anything new, I figure with 9 weeks left (and at a time when I will be expanding, A LOT), what's the point of buying anything new? So I have been digging through my closet for clothes that were larger on me pre-pregnancy that might look good on me now. So far I have had success.
Stretch marks: I spy one forming above my belly button. Last week the baby felt like she was pushing in that specific area, trying to bust her way out.
Sleep: Pretty good. I had a busy work week last week, so I was tired at night. I would come home and sew diapers for a few hours and then collapse into bed from exhaustion (I haven't even watched any netflix). I only get up once a night to pee, which isn't bad, although I tend to lay in bed for some time afterwards thinking about everything that needs to be done and wondering if getting up at that time (usually 2 or 3am) would be too early.

Miss anything? My agility.
Movement? This should be renamed "Which body part was that?". When I wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, the baby usually gets up with me and rolls around in my belly until I fall asleep again. I am not entirely sure what I am feeling in there, but it is usually smooth and hard, so it may be her back or bottom. Of course, it could be her head, but I really hope that she is head down already.
Food cravings? carbohydrates and unhealthy food. On Wednesday we ordered take out at work and I ordered a loaded cheeseburger with small fries. I ATE EVERYTHING. And proceeded to have cramps and indigestion all day. I couldn't even eat dinner, too full. I need to remember to eat smaller portions..., my stomach does not have enough room for those large meals anymore :(.
Gender: GIRL
Name? Maybe...
Anything make you queasy or sick? nope
Symptoms: Squirmy belly, more Braxton Hicks, fatigue, hunger (large appetite, small stomach), mood swings. Fun stuff!
Exercise: Not as much as I would like, but I managed to get out on some hikes with Carlie this weekend. I need to pick up the yoga again, though.
Mood: All over the place. I think that I am basically mellow most of the time, but if something goes wrong, I tend to overreact.
Fears: MUST GET DIAPERS DONE! And also that the cats will ruin all of the baby's furniture before she gets to use it. While I was painting the trim in the baby's room today, I noticed that there were a few cat scratches on the side of the crib already. WHAT THE HELL!!!!
Looking forward to? My next meal. And getting the baby's room complete so that I can show you all!
Stay warm!

Loks like things are coming along Shelby! Those diapers look like a lot of pieces, no wonder they take so long. I bet you'll get into the swing of things and be sewing them up in no time. Maybe try assembly line sewing them?
ReplyDeleteI'll have to recruit others to help with the diapers, I think. I agree about the assembly line, too bad I don't have a basement full of illegal immigrants to help me out. Next time I'll plan better!
DeleteYou could always have a girl party with sewing machine to finish the diapers. What fun.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the final weeks of pregnancy. They are really the best.
I was considering that. There are a few people at work that would probably love to help out with diapers (and have already offered). As suggested above in the last comment, we could do an assembly line. The most complicated part is the inside welt pocket area, which takes up 3/4 of the sewing time on the diaper.
DeleteBy the way, in case no one has mentioned it, you are looking beautiful.
