The baby shower was wonderful! With both handmade and store bought gifts; I can tell that my baby is loved and everyone is excited to meet her. There were even a few gifts for mama in there, from a new mom who understands the experience of giving birth naturally. From stool softener to washable breast pads, my sister-in-law set me up for after the birth (and terrified me at the same time. oi, mesh undies!).
Of course, one of the best things about gathering with friends and family is the food! My sister organized quite a spread and this soon-to-be mama was happy for it. From delicious cupcakes to smoked salmon to homemade meatballs, the buffet was a treat.
Friends came from near and far, one particular friend I hadn't seen in a year or so, drove all the way down from Eastport, where I once lived, to celebrate with the group. I was very surprised to see everyone come out in the snow storm (it ended up not snowing that much down east, but dumped about a foot of snow in southern Maine!). The venue we chose was a light and airy space overlooking the ocean. I was not interested in cleaning my house for guests so this place served it's purpose perfectly.
Thank you to all who came to celebrate our baby! She is set for many months and this mama can relax for the next six weeks while our baby girl goes through the final preparations of leaving the safety of my womb.
Thank you for all of the gifts and love!

You are such a beautiful mom-to-be. The women's center has got to be one of the nicest spaces around. Easy to see all the love in the photos. :)
